The song "Apple Orchard" was highlighted on a Pitch Fork Press MP3 mix tape in July 2006. In Oct 2006 the group self-titled Beach House, debut album, was launched through Carpark Records. That year, Pitchfork Media ranked it sixteenth on its Finest Albums list. On March 7, 2012 the band streamed a new song, "Myth", out of their website. The album Bloom was launched on May 15, 2012 via Sub Pop. A second song in the record, "Lazuli", was released on April 13, 2012.[14] Beach House was featured on the cover of Problem #80 of the Fader. A music video for "Lazuli" premiered on June 6, 2012.[16] It was directed by Allen Cordell, who also directed the movie for "Walk-In the Playground" from Teen Dream. A music-video for the track "Crazy" has also been released.
