The tune "Apple Orchard" was highlighted on a Pitchfork Press Music mixtape in July 2006. Through Car Park Records the group's self titled debut record, Beach House, was launched in Oct 2006. Pitchfork Media rated it 16th on its Best Albums list that yr. On March 7, 2012 the band streamed a new tune, "Myth", out of their site. The record Bloom premiered on May 15, 2012 via Pop. Another song from the album, "Lazuli", premiered on April-13, 2012.[14] Beach-House was featured on the cover of Concern #80 of the Fader. A music-video for "Lazuli" was released on June 6, 2012.[16] It was directed by Allen Cordell, who also directed the video for "Walkin the Park" from Teen Dream. A music-video for the track "Wild" has additionally been launched.
